Privacy Policy — ClearOne

1. Who we are

ClearOne is a Chrome browser extension built and maintained by RauchVentures, an independent software team based in Prague, Czech Republic. Contact: hello@rauchventures.com

2. What data we collect and why

ClearOne collects minimal data. Here is exactly what is collected, why, and where it goes.

Email address (optional)

If you choose to confirm your email address to unlock additional free resets, we collect and store your email address. This email is added to our mailing list and used solely for occasional product updates about ClearOne and other RauchVentures extensions. Providing your email is entirely optional. The extension functions without it.

Usage counter (local only)

ClearOne stores a reset counter and your settings (toggle state, warning preference) locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

What we never collect:

• Your browsing history
• The contents of your cache or cookies
• Any data from websites you visit
• Your IP address
• Any device identifiers

3. How we use your email

If you provide your email address:

• It is stored in our mailing list hosted by RauchVentures
• It is used only to send product updates and announcements
• It is never sold, rented, or shared with any third party
• You can unsubscribe at any time by contacting hello@rauchventures.com

4. Permissions used by ClearOne

ClearOne requests the following Chrome permissions:

• browsingData — required to clear your cache, cookies, history, form data, and download history on demand
• storage — required to save your preferences and reset counter locally on your device
• alarms — required to support scheduled automatic resets (Pro feature)
• notifications — required to notify you when a scheduled reset completes (Pro feature)
• identity — used only to pre-fill your email address in the optional email confirmation field, using the email associated with your Chrome profile. No data is transmitted or stored without your explicit action.
• tabs — required to open the Chrome Web Store review page when you choose to leave a review

No permission is used to read, collect, monitor, or transmit your browsing activity.

5. Third-party services

ClearOne uses no third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services.

The only external connection ClearOne makes is a single HTTPS POST request to our secure server when you voluntarily submit your email address. No other network requests are made.

6. Data storage and security

All extension settings and the reset counter are stored locally in Chrome's storage on your device. We do not operate servers that store your usage data. The only data we hold externally is your email address if you chose to provide it.

7. Your rights under GDPR

As a Czech Republic-based service we comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your email address from our mailing list at any time
• Objection — object to processing of your data for marketing purposes
• Portability — request your data in a portable format

8. Children

ClearOne is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as ClearOne evolves, particularly when new features are introduced. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
